Gretchen Fuller MD
Welcome! I’m Gretchen Fuller - an Emergency Medicine physician in Austin, TX specializing in coaching healthcare professionals in self-awareness, interpersonal and leadership skills to achieve fulfillment and well-being. I meet healthcare professionals as experts in their lived experiences, fully resourced and capable of flourishing.
My background is rooted in medicine, communication and coaching. I trained at Harvard Medical School, completed Emergency Medicine residency and chief residency at UCSF, and pursued a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at UT Austin Dell Medical School. I serve on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Communication in Healthcare, where I help medical professionals strengthen their intrapersonal, interpersonal, and team communication skills. I am a Master Certified Physician Development Coach (through the ICF-certified Physician Coaching Institute). I teach communication and coaching skills to trainees and faculty at UT Austin Dell Medical School and was the recipient of the 2024 Faculty Compassion and Character award. Previously, I served as National Director of Patient Experience of an acute care contracting company with over 5,000 clinicians serving more than 9 million patients annually.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 children, being outdoors and enjoying great breakfast tacos in Austin.
